I wish to see more collaboration; a unity brought forth that includes people of all backgrounds to create beautiful pieces of work. I’m a lover of rampant and purposeful collaboration; the sewing together of different worlds and ideas to create something complete new, different and groundbreaking. I think instead of treating each other as competition, we should be helping each other and propping each other up so we can reach new highs and burst through predetermined ceilings.
Paintings wise I’m a massive fan of Basquiat’s work, and I’m incredibly inspired by his philosophies. I love his work Untitled (Fishing) along with Mach-Hommy’s rendition of that on Pray for Haiti. I love the film Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. The editing is absolutely insane, and the messages of the film bring me to tears every single time. There’s another layer of appreciation I have as a second generation Asian-American, with cultural components of that film that resonate me like no other. As far as music goes, music is my livelihood. I am an artist, rapper, and producer, so my inspirations are spread everywhere: J. Dilla, The Alchemist, billy woods, JPEGMAFIA, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar (of course), and other acts such as Radiohead, The Marias, Car Seat Headrest, and even more. I dedicate most of my life to music, and I couldn’t imagine anything else in all honesty.
